The Hemel Hempstead School Gets Green Light
Posted on 19/05/2026The Hemel Hempstead School (HHS) is celebrating a major achievement after receiving green ratings across every category in Ofsted’s new, more rigorous inspection framework.
Under the updated system, schools are assessed in eight key areas, with the Expected Standard defined as a school “doing everything that it should be doing.” We are proud to have met — and in some areas exceeded — these expectations.

One standout highlight is the rating HHS achieved for Personal Development and Wellbeing, where Ofsted awarded the Strong Standard. Inspectors praised the work of The HHEx and PACE, recognising it as “excellent, consistent work, making a real difference for learners.”
This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of our community. HHS look forward to building on this success as we continue to provide exceptional education for all.
At the Hemel Hempstead School, pupils are encouraged to be the best versions of themselves. The school is inclusive and nurturing. Pupils feel known, supported and included. Pupils enjoy lessons and are proud of the work that they produce. They describe a culture of ‘We’re in this together.'
