Longdean School
Longdean started life through the amalgamation of Apsley Grammar School and Bennett's End Secondary Modern. Both these schools were founded in 1955 to meet the growing need for secondary school education in the new town of Hemel Hempstead.
We have a broad, inclusive curriculum which enables all students to thrive, and we share and celebrate successes both inside and outside the classroom. At Longdean we encourage students to discover, develop and share their talents with us. Our motto “Rejoice in the Youth” illustrates our commitment to ensuring that students truly enjoy their years with us.
We are a value driven and supportive community. By truly getting to know our students as individuals, we support them in developing into responsible, well rounded adults, ready to contribute to the world. Longdean is lucky to serve such a strong community and I am looking forward to working with the staff, students and their families to achieve fantastic results for all in the future.
