Inspiring First Week Back

Posted on 09/01/2026

The new term has begun with energy and excitement across all our schools, as pupils returned in January to a week packed with learning, creativity and unforgettable experiences.

Some of our Sixth Form science students started the year with an extraordinary opportunity in Switzerland, where they visited CERN. From exploring cutting‑edge particle physics to seeing the Large Hadron Collider up close, the trip offered a rare glimpse into the world of world‑leading scientific research.

Back at home, our primary pupils embraced the winter weather with huge enthusiasm. Snowy playgrounds became the backdrop for outdoor learning, teamwork and plenty of joyful moments.

In the classrooms, innovation was in full flow as pupils began designing their own Formula 1 cars, combining engineering, physics and creativity in a hands‑on project that has already sparked impressive ideas.

Meanwhile, literacy took centre stage through virtual author workshops, giving pupils the chance to meet writers, ask questions and gain inspiration for their own storytelling.

With so much happening in just the first week, the term ahead promises to be full of discovery, ambition and memorable achievements for all our students.
