Samuel Ryder Academy open 3G pitches

Posted on 15/10/2018

Samuel Ryder Academy's fantastic new 3G pitches were officially opened by Georgie Bingham, talkSPORT presenter and Football Foundation Ambassador. The facility has been made possible thanks to investment from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund, which is delivered by the Football Foundation and the great fundraising efforts of our fantastic PTA.

In addition to the 3G pitch being used for a huge number of  school curricular and extra-curricular activities, St Albans City Youth FC are also going to use the site as a training facility. More than 850 people are expected to start playing football on the pitch over the next five years which represents a growth of 224% and of this, significant growth in the number of female players using the facility is also predicted.
