Priory's Epic Iceland Adventure
Posted on 05/05/2023Between 12th and 15th April, 43 students and 5 staff from Priory Academy ventured to Iceland to experience the rugged, and starkly beautiful, volcanic environment of this stunning, Nordic country.
The trip was packed with numerous wonderous sights, including:
- ‘Bridge between the Continents’;
- geothermal pools of ‘Gunnuhver’;
- Seljalandsfoss an old sea cliff;
- glacier walks on Sólheimajökull, (Sun Home Glacier – ‘Jokull’ being the Icelandic word for glacier);
- witnessed the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights);
- the small village of Flúðir, and a visit to ‘The Secret Lagoon’, Iceland’s first geothermal pool

The whole experience truly lived up to its billing of the trip of a lifetime. The students will never forget this amazing country. My thanks go out to Ms. Bradford, Ms. Brooks, Ms. Scott and Mr. Davies for their fantastic support.
