Priory's Epic Iceland Adventure

Posted on 05/05/2023

Between 12th and 15th April, 43 students and 5 staff from Priory Academy ventured to Iceland to experience the rugged, and starkly beautiful, volcanic environment of this stunning, Nordic country.

The trip was packed with numerous wonderous sights, including:

  • ‘Bridge between the Continents’;
  • geothermal pools of ‘Gunnuhver’;
  • Seljalandsfoss an old sea cliff;
  • glacier walks on Sólheimajökull, (Sun Home Glacier – ‘Jokull’ being the Icelandic word for glacier);
  • witnessed the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights);
  • the small village of Flúðir, and a visit to ‘The Secret Lagoon’, Iceland’s first geothermal pool

Read all about the epic adventure in the Priory Academy newsletter.

The whole experience truly lived up to its billing of the trip of a lifetime.  The students will never forget this amazing country.  My thanks go out to Ms. Bradford, Ms. Brooks, Ms. Scott and Mr. Davies for their fantastic support.

Mr. Cronin
