Remembrance Day

Harpenden Academy

On Thursday we celebrated Remembrance Day at school. It is always a sombre assembly and one which we take seriously at school. Many thanks to Sam Barratt from SJL for playing the trumpet, Rev Dennis Stamp for the service and to Mayor Paul Cousin for attending.

My special thanks to the families who filled in the poster sent to everyone called 'Who do you wear your poppy for?' The children and their families were given a special mention in the assembly.

To the parents who managed to attend - thank you and I hope that you had a silent memory of your own to remember. Thank you to the School Council and to FoHA for selling the poppy merchandise each morning this week.
