Students Unite for Climate and Sustainability Conference 2025

Posted on 13/06/2025

Pupils from across primary and secondary schools within the Trust gathered last week for a vibrant climate and sustainability conference designed to inspire climate-conscious action amongst the next generation.

Held at Rothamstead Conference Centre, the event brought together young minds under the shared theme of “Our Planet, Our Future.” The day kicked off with inspiring keynote speeches from notable environmental advocates, who shared insights on sustainable living, climate innovation, and the power of youth-led change.

The heart of the conference was its series of hands-on, interactive workshops, where students collaborated across age groups to explore themes like renewable energy, waste reduction, eco-friendly design, and biodiversity. Highlights included a recycled art poster  challenge and an expert panel question and answer session.

“It was amazing to learn from older students and also share what we're doing in our school to help the planet,” said one Year 5 pupil, clearly energised by the day’s events.

The conference closed with a united pledge from all attendees to bring new ideas back to their classrooms and communities—proving that when it comes to sustainability, age is no barrier to impact.
