Young Scooters Learn Safety Tips from Hertfordshire’s Sustainable Travel Team

Year 2 pupils at Buntingford First School had an exciting visit from Hertfordshire’s Sustainable Travel team, where they learned essential scooter safety skills. The session aimed to educate children on responsible travel, ensuring they navigate their surroundings safely while enjoying their scooters.

During the visit, students were taught important techniques, including how to control their speed, use their scooters in a safe manner, and be aware of their environment. The interactive session encouraged confidence-building and awareness, helping children develop responsible habits for their daily travel.

Teachers praised the initiative, highlighting its importance in promoting active and sustainable travel amongst young students. Parents also welcomed the focus on safety, recognising the value of early education in fostering independence and smart decision-making.

The event was a great success, leaving students enthusiastic about putting their new skills into practice in their everyday journeys.
