Young Athletes Shine in Scholars' Cup Tournament
Posted on 08/05/2025Excitement and teamwork were in full display as Year 4 pupils from the Trust came together for a thrilling tag rugby and football competition. The Scholars' Cup event, held at Samuel Ryder Academy and co-ordinated by SRA Sport Academy Leaders, sees young athletes showcasing their skills, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit in a friendly environment.
The tournament brought together children from Buntingford First School, Dunstable Icknield Lower School, Harpenden Academy, Oakleaf Primary School and Samuel Ryder Academy, giving them the chance to build friendships and experience the joy of sport beyond their own school teams. Both the tag rugby and football matches were fast-paced, with pupils demonstrating impressive agility, teamwork, and determination.
At the end of this year's tournament, all schools celebrated the day’s achievements, with the Scholars' Cup being awarded to Samuel Ryder Academy. It was a fantastic day of sporting action, teamwork and fair play, leaving participants eager for the next big competition.
What a great way to inspire young athletes and strengthen community ties!
We look forward to the Year 8 Scholars' Cup next week.
