Highfield Remembrance

Posted on 04/11/2024

In the summer term Miss Hoskins worked with some of her Year 9 students on a small sculpture unit. Students explored memorials that have been made over the years and took inspiration from art that specifically looked at Remembrance Day. In these lessons students worked with a variety of materials ranging from quilling, wire sculpture and cardboard 3D sculptures. Students were passionate about the small group work activities and created some beautiful and thought provoking pieces.

At the end of the Autumn term, Miss Hoskins, Miss Constaninou and her Year 10 art class set about creating a larger installation. By painting a large mural and silhouette figures, alongside the texture scattered poppies, creates a beautiful place for a moment of thought and Remembrance.
