Samuel Ryder Academy celebrated Maths Week in style, which began with engaging whole school assemblies.

We’d like to thank Ben Sparks for visiting our school and delivering a brilliant talk to inspire our Year 10 and Year 12 students - a fantastic way to celebrate Maths Week!

Mathematicians from Sir John Lawes School and Longdean School were invited and took part in a Sixth Form Trust workshop afterwards.

Our students enjoyed the secondary year group relays and there were also wonderful cross-year initiatives with Year 8 students leading Year 12 afternoon form, promoting Maths; Year 12 students leading a Year 6 Maths lesson; a Times Table Rock Stars battle between Primary year groups and such a popular code breaking session that another was added!

Today, some of our Year 8 and Year 9 students attended an educational visit to Bletchley Park where they engaged in a series of stimulating mathematics puzzles and had a tour of Bletchley Park in addition to undertaking a workshop led by experts from Bletchley.
