Reception pupils at Harpenden Academy had a fun filled, super exciting afternoon. They each got to role play going to the pier and being stall holders on the pier. When they visited the pier, each were given a purse full of pennies to spend at the pier. They could win some pennies back at the games and spend them buying souvenirs or food from the cafe or fish and chip stall. They all got into character selling and encouraging others to visit our stalls. They especially loved serving the adults in the cafe.

It was a wonderful day and the children had so much fun. They got a real insight into what life was like in the past.

They ended the day with an adapted Punch and Judy show which has talked about as a highlight today and re-enacted in our own puppets theatre!
