Deputy Director of SEND and Safeguarding
- L14-18
- Part time or full time considered

- Based at Samuel Ryder Academy, St Albans, Hertfordshire
As a result of the Trust’s growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to join our Central team as Deputy Director of SEND and Safeguarding. Working closely with Ladan Shirazi, our Director of SEND and Safeguarding, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that some of our most vulnerable pupils have the highest standards of care and that a culture of safeguarding is embedded in all SET schools.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual, able to work across our schools, with the knowledge and credibility to have an immediate impact in these key areas. As part of the trust’s central team, the Deputy Director of SEND and Safeguarding will be representing us to a variety of stakeholders and so it is important that they have excellent people and presentation skills. Support and training will be provided but the successful candidate will be expected to be able to work independently, when required, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving. Initially the successful candidate will focus on either Safeguarding or SEND, but they will be expected to develop their understanding and expertise in both areas over time. We are happy to receive applications from colleagues with experience of senior leadership in either primary or secondary settings.
Scholars’ Education Trust is an established, cross phase, multi-academy trust. We currently have just under 10,000 pupils in our care.
Diversity: The Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.
