Harpenden Intergenerational Choir

Posted on 29/09/2023

Sir John Lawes School have now had 3 really inspiring rehearsals of the newly formed Harpenden Intergenerational Choir, of which SJL are partners in this exciting project set up by Harpenden Town Council. Our numbers are growing and the power of music for well -being for all is so clear to see! Our 12 year 10 students are true ambassadors for the school, for music and for the community in which they live.

CHOIR

“It’s all so uplifting all this … I absolutely loved it… the year 10s are so great !”

“….how nice it was to have the mix of generations, I know it’s in the name, but to see it work in practice was so good and the pupils from Sir John Lawes School were helpful, polite, chatty, and I hope that they genuinely enjoyed it as much as we did because without them it just wouldn’t be the same.”

If you know anyone who may benefit from the choir (no former experience needed), please do encourage them, and their carers, to come along. It really is open to anyone, with or without dementia. We meet at the the Harpenden Salvation Army Hall from 12.45-1.30pm every Tuesday lunchtime, apart from the first Tuesday of the month.
