SRA Primary say "bonjour" "hola"

Posted on 27/01/2022

It has been another fantastic Modern Foreign Languages week in Samuel Ryder primary to celebrate different cultures and languages. They have taken part in lots of activities, including; taking the register in different languages, singing 'Let it go' in 25 languages, learning animal sounds around the world and 'Hunt the Flags of the World' in the playground. Year 4 and 5 took part in a French story telling session kindly funded by our wonderful PTA. They really enjoyed this interactive session where they had the opportunity to develop their speaking and listening skills in French, whilst listening and acting out some well-known fairy tales. On Tuesday and Thursday our students enjoyed a change of menu with French and Spanish themed lunches. Friday was a very fitting and colourful end to the week dressing up in the colours of a flag to represent different countries. Our KS2 Language Ambassadors led the primary Modern Foreign Languages assembly during which our Year 1 French club students performed a song beautifully. We certainly have embraced our love of languages this week!
